Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 165 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. In response, Bangladesh won the match by 8 wickets with 11 balls remaining. In this match, controversy has arisen due to the catch out of Soumya Sarkar during Bangladesh’s innings.

The third umpire saw through UltraEdge technology that there were signs of edge of the bat, but despite this the third umpire took a decision against the on-field umpire and declared Soumya not out. This decision enraged the Sri Lankan players and the matter quickly became a topic of discussion on social media.

Let us tell you that at that time Soumya was batting on 14 runs in 10 balls. He was out after scoring 26 runs in 22 balls. Soumya hit five fours in his innings. Bangladesh got off to a good start while chasing 166 runs. There was a partnership of 68 runs for the first wicket between Liton and Soumya and after this Nazmul scored 53 runs. Haridoye played an inning of 32 runs and thus Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka by 8 wickets in the second T20.
