Nestlé sold more than 440,000 Starbucks-branded mugs during the winter holidays. However, the company has recalled all of its Starbucks mugs after some users complained about its quality.

For this reason, the company recalled

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said the mug is more likely to break when heated in a microwave, which could pose a risk of burn and injury. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reported that Nestle sold the mugs nationwide from November to January as gift sets both offline and online for about $10, $13 or $20.

The Christmas mug sets were offered online and in-store at Target, Walmart, and Nexcom, the military retail outlet, instead of in Starbucks locations. Each of the four gift bundles had a porcelain mug with the Starbucks emblem and a metallic finish. It came in 11- and 16-oz sizes. The holiday gift packages for 2023 were Starbucks Classic Hot Cocoa and Mug, Starbucks Peppermint and Classic Hot Cocoas and Mug, and Starbucks Holiday Blend Coffee and Mug.

10 reports of mug breaking registered

The security agency said 10 reports of broken mugs were recorded, including nine cases of serious burns and blisters on fingers or hands. At the same time, a total of 12 cases have been reported so far. The organization advised customers to cease using the mugs right away, return them to the store, or get in touch with Nestlé USA to receive a complete refund.

What did the company say in its statement?

At the same time, the company has also given a statement on this matter. Nestlé said it was aware of the issue after being contacted by consumers, took immediate action, and is working with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall the mug.
