Celtics defeat Heat in the NBA Playoffs, but a star is injured
But Monday’s news wasn’t all positive for the Celtics. Kristaps Porzingis, a forward, had a heel injury during the game. He exited the game almost after, receiving assistance from the coaching staff. He was in a lot of agony and was not placing any weight on his leg. He stayed away from the game.
Porzingis will have imaging testing on his heel on Tuesday to determine the extent of the ailment, per ESPN. The Celtics’ coaching staff’s preliminary testing, however, does not point to a significant Achilles tendon injury.
Game 5 of the NBA Playoffs series between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat will take place at TD Garden in Boston on Wednesday, January 1.
