Even though Manchester City defeated Arsenal’s rivals in North London, Tottenham, on Tuesday night, to take control of the championship race, there is still competition heading into the last day of the season.
The Gunners need to defeat 15th-place Everton on Sunday at the Etihad and hope that their fellow Londoners, West Ham, will do them a favor. Pep Guardiola’s team just needs three points to win the Premier League for the fourth time in a row.
If Manchester City loses against the Hammers, Arsenal still has a chance to win a league title for the first time in twenty years based on goal differential.
What happens to the trophy then, on the last day when everything may still go any way?
When the final whistle sounds, it won’t be transported by helicopter between stadiums.
Two identical trophies are in reality present at both stadiums on the final matchday; one is retained for use by the Premier League, while the other has remained with the holders throughout the season.
Additionally, every ground will have the same podiums and fireworks, and the trophy won’t be engraved until the winners have lifted it.
There won’t be any waiting around for medals for players either, as a set of 40 will be available for the champions at both Etihad Stadium and Emirates Stadium.
As David Moyes’ last game in command of the Hammers approaches, Arsenal must now defeat Everton on Sunday and hope for an improbable City slip-up against West Ham.
Guardiola is aware that his old assistant at Manchester City will not give up even if they are far into the box office season, notwithstanding how unlikely it is that Arsenal will win the title at this point.
“What can I say?” he said to beIN Sports. Given what they have accomplished with Arsenal this season, he is an amazing manager.
He also won’t give up; they’ll keep trying to defeat Everton and see what transpires. But since the game depends on us, that’s what we want.
The man who scored both goals for Manchester City last night, Erling Haaland, asked his teammates to “relax” before their matchup with West Ham.But Ange Postecoglou’s squad got out to a fast start and could have forced a tie if Son Heung-min hadn’t wasted a golden opportunity with only substitute goalkeeper Stefan Ortega to beat late in the game.

“They’re an incredible group,” Haaland remarked of the Spurs. Everyone is aware of their desire to perform constantly, and they deserve all the plaudits. Although it was somewhat challenging, we did come here to try and succeed, and we did. I’m content with it being all I have.
“I believe we were a little anxious.” That seems typical to me—everyone experiences a wide range of emotions. Everyone is aware of the circumstances, yet it is important to avoid overanalyzing. Try to stay focused on your tasks and strive for victory.
