The second match of the three-match ODI series is being played between the women’s teams of India and Australia at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Australian captain Alyssa Healy won the toss and decided to bat first. Australia scored 258 runs for eight wickets in 50 overs. Team India has got the target of 259 runs to win. For Australia, Phoebe Litchfield scored 63 and Ellyse Perry scored 50 runs. For India, Deepti Sharma took the maximum of five wickets.

Chasing the target, India’s two wickets have fallen. The first blow came in the form of Yastika Bhatia. She was out lbw after scoring 14 runs off 26 balls. After that, Smriti Mandhana was dismissed for 34 runs off 38 balls. McGrath caught her off Elana King. At present, Richa Ghosh and Jemimah Rodrigues are at the crease.

Ellyse Perry scored a half-century

The first blow to the Australian team was in the form of captain Alyssa. She scored 13 runs in 24 balls and was bowled by Pooja Vastrakar. At the same time, Ellyse Perry was caught by Deepti Sharma at the hands of Shreyanka Patil. Perry scored 50 runs in 47 balls with the help of five fours and a six. Australia suffered a third blow in the form of Beth Mooney. She scored 10 runs off 17 balls. Mooney was lbw by Deepti.

Litchfield played the best innings

Phoebe Lichfield was dismissed for 63 runs off 98 balls. Richa Ghosh takes her catch off Shreyanka Patil. The fifth blow to the Kangaroo team was Ashley Gardner. She scored two runs off six balls. Amanjot Kaur catches him off Sneh Rana. Tahila McGrath became the victim of Deepti Sharma after scoring 24 runs off 32 balls. Georgia Wareham scored 22 runs and caught Smriti Mandhana off Deepti Sharma’s ball. At the same time, Annabel Sutherland (23) was caught by Deepti on her ball. Elana King scored 28 and Kim Garth remained unbeaten on 11 runs.

She has returned to the Indian team. She did not play in the first ODI due to being unfit. The Australian captain made a change in the playing 11. Kim Garth has returned in place of fast bowler Megan Schutt. At the same time, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur has made two changes. After losing 

In the first match, the Indian team, captained by Harmanpreet Kaur, had a big challenge to save the series against Australia. Australia proved India 19 in every department in the first ODI at the Wankhede Stadium. In the first ODI, India scored their highest score of 282 for eight against Australia in the innings of Jemimah Rodrigues (82) and Pooja Vastrakar (62 not out). India tried seven bowlers in bowling but to no avail. Australia won the match by 6 wickets.

India has lost all the eight matches that it has played against Australia on their soil since February 2007. This is an opportunity for the Indian team to start preparations for the ODI World Cup to be held in 2025 and improve their record against Australia.
