On a night full of emotions in the NBA, the Chicago Bulls were responsible for considerably raising the heart rates of their fans. Playing away from home, against the Indiana Pacers, the team played an electrifying duel until the end against the Indiana franchise. Alternating between good and bad moments, the team knew how to suffer until the last seconds and achieved an important victory in the NBA, mainly thanks to DeMar DeRozan.

With two seconds left to end the match, the ball was in the Chicago Bulls’ court, but the scoreboard already pointed to a 117 x 115 victory for the Indiana Pacers, which would be a third consecutive defeat for the Illinois team in the competition. It was then that DeRozan’s star shone, as he almost without looking hit a shot that tied the game at 117 x 117, triggering an overtime to decide who would emerge victorious in the NBA.

In extra time, more minutes of emotions were played by the teams, but in the end it was the Chicago Bulls who were awarded the victory by 132 x 129, guaranteeing a result that left them comfortably in ninth place in the Eastern Conference. DeRozan, on the other hand, scored 46 points and reached one of his biggest marks with the Bulls.
DeRozan scores more than 40 points in the NBA again after 41 games
At 34 years old, DeRozan has been one of the highlights of the Chicago Bulls in the NBA since 2021, always with good scores, but without presenting spectacular performances. The 46-point score in the duel against the Pacers not only guaranteed a victory for the Chicago franchise, but also saw the player break a mark of 41 games in which he did not surpass the 40-point barrier.
The last time this happened was on December 11, 2023, in the defeat to the Milwaukee Bucks by 133 x 129, when the player scored 41 points. This Wednesday’s duel (12) also made the Bulls become the team that took the most games to overtime in the NBA. On 10 occasions, the Chicago franchise’s duels went into overtime, with the Bulls achieving seven wins and only three defeats.
After the negative result, the Indiana Pacers turn their attention to next Saturday’s duel (16), against the Brooklyn Nets. The Bulls, who recovered from the defeat suffered by the Dallas Mavericks, will have little time to celebrate, as they return to the court this Thursday (13), when they face the Los Angeles Clippers.
