Ronaldo’s Frustration on Display as Al Nassr Loses to Al Hilal in Dramatic Final

Cristiano Ronaldo’s anger erupted during a fierce Saudi Super Cup final following Al Nassr’s humiliating 1-4 loss to Al Hilal. After scoring the first goal, Ronaldo watched as his squad fell apart in the second half, giving up four goals in a span of only 17 minutes.

Ronaldo’s game took a turn for the worse as Al Nassr’s defensive errors gave Al Hilal the upper hand. Ronaldo seemed irritated after Malcom’s equalizing goal in the 71st minute. He expressed his displeasure with his colleagues’ performance by throwing his arms up in the air and giving them a sleeping motion. He made an offensive gesture as part of his actions, which provoked criticism on social media.

Even with Ronaldo’s incredible individual accomplishments from the previous season—he broke the record as the Saudi Pro League’s best scorer with 35 goals—Al Nassr concluded the campaign without a trophy, coming in second behind Al Hilal. Ronaldo’s chances of atonement were scuppered this season as Al Nassr failed once more.

Ronaldo gave Al Nassr the lead in the end shortly before halfway, but there was a significant comeback in the second half. After Sergej Milinkovic-Savic of Al Hilal equalized in the 55th minute, Mitrović scored twice and Malcom scored a fourth. Al Hilal won this Super Cup for the second time in a row.

On Saturday, however, Ronaldo Al Nassr scored his lone goal only minutes before the half ended. He gave his squad the lead at halftime, but after that, things only got worse for him and his group as they let up four goals.

After Mitrović scored twice in six minutes, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic leveled it 1-1 in the 55th minute with a goal from just inside the box. Al-Hilal’s fourth goal was added by Brazilian winger Malcom, giving the league champion a second straight Super Cup triumph.

“In the second half, we demonstrated our superiority,” Mitrović remarked. “We altered in the second half after having some issues in the first. We maintained our composure, and it’s satisfying to start the season with a trophy.

In recent years, Al-Hilal has maintained its dominance in Saudi Arabian sports even without the services of star acquisition Neymar, who hasn’t played since October because of a knee ligament injury. Next Saturday, they will play Al-Okhdood in the opening match of their league title defense.
