A physician at R G Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata was a party to a rape and murder case. On August 17, a doctor was detained in Uttar Pradesh on suspicion of raping a Dalit nurse, age 20. A gangrape and murder case in Bihar has also surfaced, involving six individuals, following the gruesome death of a Dalit adolescent in the Muzaffarpur area.
