Following his hard defeat at UFC 300 last Saturday (March 13) against Armenian Arman Tsarukyan, Brazilian Charles do Bronx thanked his supporters on social media. Do Bronx was emotional as he discussed the outcome from last Saturday and the hours that followed the loss.
Say anything, my relatives. Now, from the bottom of my heart, thank you to all of you. It won’t be a glorious day every day. It was a hard struggle today. I had a chance to complete, even to knock out, but I couldn’t seem to locate who I was. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone. I’m okay, but my eyes are a bit puffy from the sutures. It’s part of me, I’ve sobbed, and it won’t go away. Charles said on his Instagram profile, “Just to go back home, be close to my family, dedicate myself to training again and hope that you continue to cheer and shout for me.”
Even though the Brazilian fighter nearly submitted his opponent in the closing moments of the round, the judges opted to award a split decision in the bout between Charles do Bronx and Arman Tsarukyan. The Brazilian, encouraged and supported by the spectators at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, put on a triangle choke that had the potential to alter the course of the entire fight, which ended with the sound of the bell. He even attempted to use a guillotine before. On the other side, Tsarukyan showed bravery by resisting the Brazilian onslaught and never giving up.
Charles Do Bronx used the message as an opportunity to admit that this fight wasn’t his finest and that these were not his greatest days, but he also promised to return and challenge for the UFC lightweight championship.
“Everything that’s happening to me is amazing. My sincerest gratitude to you for everything. I’ll return stronger, that much I can assure you of. That’s the entire game. It’s limited what you can do. I’ve had an amazing week at weight loss and a fantastic camp, but that’s it. “It wasn’t meant to be, it wasn’t my day,” Charles Do Bronx said in closing.

A few months later, at UFC 280, the company handed Charles another chance to win the championship by pitting him against Islam Makhachev of Russia. Charles from the Bronx was, however, submitted this time and had to re-enter the queue. Following the defeat, the Brazilian defeated Iran’s Beneil Dariush at UFC 289 to win once again. Charles do Bronx even tied Damian Maia for the record for the most Brazilian victories in the UFC with his 22 victories from this fight.
