Long lines had formed outside recruitment centers every day for the past week as young people sought to join the army, one of the few institutions offering work in the Republic of Congo. Around 700 people registered every day although only 1,500 vacancies are available in total.
PM Office confirmed the death of 37 people so far
According to a press release issued by the Prime Minister’s Office Crisis Unit on Tuesday, 37 people have been confirmed dead and many more injured by emergency services.
