Delhi Chief Minister and AAP’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has received a setback from the High Court. He challenged his arrest and remand in the court. Also demanded an immediate hearing on March 24. On which the Delhi High Court refused to hear. ED had arrested Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has received a shock from the Delhi High Court. The CM had challenged his arrest and remand, for which he had sought an urgent hearing on March 24. But the High Court refused this. The court has listed the case for Wednesday (March 27).
CM Kejriwal on Saturday challenged his arrest by the ED and the remand order passed by the trial court on March 22, 2024, in the Delhi High Court. His lawyer had demanded an immediate hearing from the Chief Justice.
CM on ED remand till March 28
ED had arrested Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday. After this, he was produced in Rouse Avenue Court on Friday and asked for 10 days’ remand for questioning, but the court gave six days’ remand. Now CM Kejriwal will remain in ED remand till March 28. In the hearing, Additional Solicitor General appeared on behalf of ED while senior lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi appeared on behalf of Kejriwal.
Directing Kejriwal to be produced again on March 28 at 2 pm, the court said that the entire interrogation proceedings will be recorded on camera.
