In the last over, MS Dhoni struck three straight sixes off Hardik Pandya to reach 20 not out in only four balls, helping CSK to a massive 206 for four. Later, at 186 for six, Matheesha Pathirana secured 4 for 28 to end MI’s pursuit.

During his 63-ball innings, Rohit blasted 11 fours and five sixes for his only second IPL century and first since 2012. The ground at Wankhede Stadium is still good for batting, but despite his incredible effort, the rest of the team did not match it.

The Mumbai Indians’ fourth loss in six games coincided with the defending champion CSK’s first away victory of the season, which kept them in eighth place.

As KKR chased down the goal of 162 with 26 balls remaining, skipper Shreyas Iyer overcame a shaky start to stay undefeated on a run-a-ball 38. Salt hammered three sixes and fourteen fours in his 47-ball 89 not out.

Jasprit Bumrah: Despite going into the match against CSK without a wicket, the MI bowler held onto his second-place ranking with 10 wickets in 6 games.

Mustafi Zur Rahman: The left-arm bowler for CSK returned 1/55 in 4 overs, bringing his 5-game total of 10 wickets to third place. Despite having the same number of wickets as Bumrah, he is ranked lower because of his greater economy rate.

Kagiso Rabada: By taking the vital wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson in the second innings of PBKS’ match against RR, the South African fast bowler was instrumental in the team’s comeback. After 6 games, he presently has 9 wickets.

Khaleel Ahmed: With nine wickets in six games, the left-arm fast bowler for the Delhi Capitals is firmly established at number five.

After beating LSG and MI, respectively, on Sunday, KKR and CSK were able to hold onto their respective positions. With eight points between them, both clubs are ranked second and third respectively based on a higher Net Run Rate. After their losses, MI dropped to eighth place and LSG to fifth.
