Tesla, the world’s largest electric car manufacturer, has announced the recall of its Cybertruck after a video went viral. It shows the truck’s accelerator pedal stuck, potentially causing the vehicle to accelerate and cause a crash.

Tesla recalled all Cybertrucks

3,878 units are impacted by the company’s recall of all Cybertrucks that it has supplied thus far. The accelerator pedal pad, which is placed above the pedal, may get discolored, slide upward, and become lodged against the footwell area trim, per a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. As of Monday, according to the NHTSA, Tesla was not aware of any crashes, injuries, or fatalities connected to the problem.

Customers will have to do this work

Customers can take their Cybertruck to the nearest service center to get the new accelerator pedal component fitted. Tesla has said that the accelerator pedal assembly will be replaced at no charge.

Tesla has recalled about 22 lakh electric cars across various models due to problems with warning lights and font visibility. An official statement from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reveals that the EV maker has reportedly recalled vehicles including the Cybertruck that feature dashboard warning lights whose font size is too small for users to see and understand.

Tesla Cybertruck

The electric four-wheeler maker began delivering Cybertruck pickup trucks to customers in November, two years behind the original schedule, with uncertainty over when mass production would begin. Although Tesla is trying to gradually increase production, it may take some time due to the unique manufacturing process. The AWD version of Tesla Cybertruck is available at a starting price of $ 80,000 i.e. approximately Rs 66 lakh.
