When Russell Wilson emerged from the Seattle Seahawks in 2012, he was simply the most exciting player in the NFL. His movement both to launch outside the pocket and to produce incredible options with Marshawn Lynch (running back) was the terror of the league’s defenses.
Everything started to go downhill for Wilson and the Seahawks in Super Bowl This could be the second Super Bowl of the quarterback’s career, after Super Bowl XLVIII, and, who knows, another destination for the promising quarterback.

Russell Wilson’s new chance at the Broncos
After a period of decline at the Seahawks, Wilson gained a new possibility of success when he arrived at the Denver Broncos in 2022. The quarterback’s contract was worth an incredible US$245 million (approximately R$1.22 billion) for five years.
The hope was that the Broncos could return to the Super Bowl, which they won in 2016, led by Peyton Manning. Between Peyton and Russell, the Broncos have matched up with 11 different quarterbacks.
But Wilson’s productivity was not much different from previous ones, with 13 wins and 21 losses in two seasons. Last year, head coach Sean Payton benched the star and tried his luck with Jarrett Stidham.

And the fate for the next season was set: the Denver Broncos decided to release the quarterback, suffering a huge loss. The salary of US$39 million (R$195 million approximately) in 2024 is already in the quarterback’s pocket and the salary of US$37 million (R$185 million) for 2025 will also be on the red side of the Colorado team’s balance sheet .
For the player, this is not his last chance in the NFL. Wilson said goodbye to the team with a long letter of thanks and ruling out retirement: “I’m looking forward to what’s next.”
