Oklahoma City Thunder player Josh Giddey, 21, was accused of having sexual relations with an underage girl last year.
The accusations emerged through an anonymous profile on social media, which exposed videos and prints proving that the ship owner and the girl actually got involved. At the time, Josh was 19 years old, while the minor was 15.
Although the images show that the girl consented to the act, the age for legal consent to sexual intercourse with someone of legal age in the United States is 16 years old — in Brazil, the age is 14.
The case becomes even more complicated because, allegedly, the relationship took place in the state of California, where the age of consent for sexual intercourse is 18 years old.
