Conor McGregor’s return to the UFC octagon is closer than ever. The former champion, popularly known as ‘The Notorious’, confirmed in an interview with ESPN that he will be back fighting this summer, in a duel against Michael Chandler.
Despite not revealing the exact date of the fight, McGregor did not miss the opportunity to exchange barbs with Chandler, who recently challenged him on an episode of WWE’s ‘Monday Night Raw’. McGregor responded, promising to finish off Chandler when they got in the ring.
– Shut up, Michael, you fucking idiot. The man won’t shut up. I saw him on Raw. I like Mike, but I’m going to dump him. I’m going to end Mike, okay? If I say it, I do it. If I say so, it’s done. Put that on my stone – said Conor, in an interview with ESPN.
Although details such as the location and weight of the fight have not yet been announced by the organization, McGregor and Chandler appear to be preparing for the confrontation. Initially, McGregor suggested the fight would be held at 185 pounds, an unusual weight for both fighters. However, Chandler revealed that he had gained weight for the fight, claiming to be heavier than McGregor.

– I’m not sure if I’ll be ready for a summer fight (in the northern hemisphere)… this came out of nowhere… I’m out of the loop. Can you ask Dana to confirm this? – said Chandler via X, formerly Twitter.
McGregor’s return to the UFC
While Chandler tries to get in shape in time for the fight, McGregor has maintained a diverse training routine, including boxing sessions and cardio. His last official fight took place three years ago, when he suffered an injury against Dustin Poirier.
– I had [my training] in Dubai [months ago]. I was getting ready – revealed Conor.
