Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu will not contest the Lok Sabha elections 2024. He made this clear today after meeting Punjab Governor BL Purohit. Former Congress state president Navjot Singh Sidhu has made it clear that he will not contest the Lok Sabha elections. Sidhu says, ‘If I had to go to the Lok Sabha, I would not have contested the elections from Kurukshetra.’

This announcement of Sidhu is going to increase the concerns of Congress because Congress was preparing to field Sidhu from Patiala Lok Sabha seat. Sidhu does not have good relations with the state Congress leaders, hence the state Congress wanted that if Sidhu contests elections from Patiala, he will focus on his seat only.

Sidhu’s rift with Raja Vading

It is important to mention here that Sidhu does not get along with state Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Vading and opposition leader Pratap Singh Bajwa. This is the reason why on February 11, the Punjab Congress executive meeting in which the party’s national president Mallikarjun Kharge had also attended but Sidhu was not invited.

After Sushil Rinku in Jalandhar, Gurpreet Singh GP from Fatehgarh Sahib and now Dr. Rajkumar Chabbewal leaving Congress and joining Aam Aadmi Party, the former Pradhan said that the character of a person is revealed only in difficult times.

Sidhu also said in a poetic manner, ‘There must have been some compulsions; no one is unfaithful even if he wants to.’ However, when party leaders raised questions on Raja Vading’s leadership after leaving the Congress, Sidhu said, ‘What is the responsibility of the state head in this? Is. Passengers are responsible for their own luggage.

Sidhu met Governor Purohit

Sidhu said, Raja Vading is also the chief of Navjot Singh Sidhu. At the same time, Sidhu sarcastically said that when the Captain leaves, what will happen if these people leave. Actually, Sidhu was talking to journalists after meeting Governor Banwari Lal Purohit on Friday.

Let us tell you that in 2014, when BJP had decided to field the then Finance Minister Arun Jaitley from Amritsar, Sidhu was the BJP MP from Amritsar. BJP had proposed him to contest elections from Kurukshetra. Which was rejected by Sidhu.

Due to being removed from the Amritsar election field, Sidhu did not even participate in the election campaign of his political mentor Arun Jaitley. BJP later sent Sidhu to Rajya Sabha but he joined Congress party.
