Police reported that from the hills of Kangpokpi district, armed members of the village volunteers invaded Kautruk village in Imphal West district.

Adivasi Ekta Samiti calls for bandh
‘Pumpi’ mortar shells were also utilized in the fire, according to the police officer. A 12-hour lockdown of the Kangpokpi area is scheduled to begin on Sunday afternoon, according to the Adivasi Ekta Samiti. Contingents of the combined central and state security forces have reportedly arrived at the scene in an effort to stabilize the situation, according to the news agency.
Two CRPF personnel martyred
Two members of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) lost their lives in an early-morning attack in the Bishnupur area on an IRBN (India Reserve Battalion) camp by Kuki rebels. In the onslaught, two more troops suffered injuries. The militants opened fire from the hilltops, indiscriminately targeting the camp. Additionally, one of the explosives thrown by the attackers detonated near the 128 battalion CRPF checkpoint.
CRPF jawan was posted at IRBN camp
Guards from the CRPF were sent to protect the IRBN camp. Sub-Inspector N. Sarkar, who resides in the Kokrajhar district of Assam, and Head Constable Arup Saini, who works in the Bankura district of Bengal, have been recognized as the martyrs who gave their life in this incident. Constable Aftab Das and Inspector Jadav Das were injured by gunshot shrapnel.
Guilty will be punished very soon: CRPF Inspector General
Following the terrorist attack that claimed the lives of two CRPF officers, Inspector General Akhilesh Prasad Singh of the CRPF declared on Sunday that the assailants will be apprehended and dealt with in due course.
