Luka Doncic had another unbelievable performance this Wednesday (06) to lead the Dallas Mavericks to another victory this season. This time, a victory with cruelty, beating the Utah Jazz 147 to 97 at the American Airlines Center, in Dallas, Texas (USA).

Doncic managed to surpass himself with yet another unbelievable feat. The shooting guard scored a triple-double in the first half of the match and ended the game with 40 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds – this is because he only played in three-quarters of the match. Luka made 14 shots in the match, six of which were from the three-point line.

With this feat, Doncic surpassed Larry Bird and became the 9th player in NBA history with the most triple-doubles, with 60 in total. Furthermore, the 24-year-old Slovenian became the first athlete in league history to record a triple-double in the first half with at least 25 points.

The 50-point lead wasn’t built solely on Doncic’s good performance. Point guard Kyrie Irving scored 26 points and four assists in just 27 minutes on the court, while veteran Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 17 points and four rebounds off the bench and played in just 22 minutes.

With a very apathetic performance, the Utah Jazz team was unrecognizable due to the absences of Lauri Markkanen and Kelly Olynyk. Ochaj Agbaji led the team offensively, scoring 21 points, while Talen Horton-Tucker scored 11 points in 16 minutes on the court.

Dallas Mavericks win under Doncic and climb the NBA table

The Dallas Mavericks’ victory was important for the team’s aspirations this season, reaching 12 wins and eight losses and now occupying fourth place in the Western Conference. The franchise’s next commitment will be next Saturday (09), away from home, against the Portland Trail Blazers.

On the other hand, the Utah Jazz’s situation remains complicated this season. After a surprising year, the team led by coach Will Hardy has seven wins and 14 losses, currently occupying twelfth place in the Western Conference. The franchise’s next commitment will be on Saturday, at home, against Los.
