The German premium motorcycle manufacturer has said that the problem could potentially lead to loss of control and a crash. The motorcycles affected due to this recall campaign include the 2024 BMW R 1250 RT BMW K 1600 GT and BMW K 1600 GTL. In its recall document, BMW Motorrad said the issue is related to the electronic suspension adjustment (ESA) of the affected motorcycles.

In the US, three separate motorbike models are the subject of a recall by BMW Motorrad. Customers may have a front suspension strut issue, according to the business, which is causing them concern.

Problem with these bikes

According to the German luxury motorbike maker, the issue may cause a rider to lose control and crash. The 2024 BMW R 1250 RT, BMW K 1600 GT, and BMW K 1600 GTL are among the bikes that are impacted by this recall action.

What’s the problem?

In its recall document, BMW Motorrad said the issue is related to the electronic suspension adjustment (ESA) of the affected motorcycles. There is a problem inside the valve in the damper on these suspension struts. This can result in the valve opening on its own over time, causing inadequate or incorrect dumping.

This can impair the affected bikes’ stability when traveling at high speeds or over uneven terrain, which might lead to a serious collision. The OEM did, however, state that it has voluntarily issued this recall and is not currently aware of any incidents brought on by defective suspension struts.

The solution will be like this

The massive two-wheeler manufacturer says it has found a batch of possibly faulty suspension struts. The business added that it has already given authorized repair centers instructions to inspect the impacted motorcycles and alter these models as needed to address the issue. BMW Motorrad will notify owners of affected motorcycles and ask them to bring them to a service center for inspection and repair.
