Bijapur Naxalite Encounter: An encounter has taken place between security forces and Naxalites in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. Six Naxalites were killed in this encounter. Information indicates that in the forest between Chikurbatti Pusbaka in the Bijapur district, there was a confrontation between security personnel and Naxalites. This operation involved the DRG CRPF 229 Cobra team. At present a search operation is going on at the spot.

Six Naxalites killed in encounter
Giving information, a police officer said that six Naxalites, including a woman, have been killed in an encounter with security personnel. An engagement between security personnel and Naxalites reportedly occurred in the woodland region close to Chikurbatti Pusbaka in the district of Bijapur.
The team had gone on anti-Naxal campaign
Bastar Range Inspector General of Police Sundarraj P. told news agency PTI that a joint team of security personnel had set out on an anti-Naxal operation. The encounter took place in the forests of Chikurbhatti and Pusabka villages under Basaguda police station area.
Bodies of six Naxalites recovered
He said that DRG, CRPF 229, Cobra teams were involved in this operation. According to him, six Naxalites’ bodies—including that of a woman—were found there after the confrontation concluded. The location is now the scene of a search operation.
Operation launched after murder of villagers
Notably, after the murder of three villagers, a team of security forces had gone on a search operation in Polampalli, Chippurbhatti area.
