Balochistan’s Acting Information Minister, Jan Achakzai, stated that the Pakistan Army and Frontier Constabulary Balochistan responded quickly to the attacks that occurred throughout the night. “During the attack, security forces killed five terrorists of Balochistan Liberation Army,” the official added. “They fired rockets at the Mach jail building but could not hit the target,” that’s what he stated.
According to unconfirmed accounts, at least two police officers were murdered and a truck driver injured in the attack, although there has been no official confirmation of the number of deaths or injuries. Terrorists hiding in the neighboring hills fired rockets, and explosions were heard throughout Mach city.
Following the rocket launch, the terrorists attacked the security troops camp near the Central Jail and infiltrated Mach Railway Station. The officer stated that due to the ongoing firing, individuals were instructed to stay indoors using loudspeakers.
According to Balochistan Information Minister Jan Achakzai, “The rockets they fired towards Mach Jail did not penetrate the security circle.” Balochistan Jail Inspector General Shuja Kasi acknowledged that the rockets struck the walls of Mach Jail’s residential quarter. But they fell.
“Mortar shells and rockets exploded near the walls of the colony,” he claimed, adding that no injuries had been reported so yet. He stated that there are 800 detainees in Mach Prison, including several who have been sentenced to death. The minister stated the terrorists were from the Aslam Acho group, but later the Majeed Brigade of the proscribed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack.
A security official stated that the exchange of fire between armed terrorists and the army lasted several hours and resulted in the deaths of around five militants. He stated that there was no loss to any establishment.
