Zombie viruses the horrific scene of the Corona pandemic is still vividly remembered by many people. Many people’s scars are still fresh today as they reflect on that awful period. This outbreak had claimed the lives of many people around the world. Many folks have yet to heal from the grief it caused. Even now, new types of this virus raise people’s concerns. Meanwhile, experts have raised concerns about another pathogen. Recently, scientists revealed a surprising discovery about the ‘zombie virus’. Tell us about it in detail.

The threat of a new epidemic

Scientists have warned that the ‘zombie virus’ hidden behind layers of ice in the Arctic might spark a new outbreak. This threat has grown even more serious as global warming causes ice to melt, potentially releasing ‘zombie viruses’ and causing a new pandemic to break out.

Melting ice is a matter of concern

According to scientists, when the Earth warms as a result of rising temperatures and more human activity such as shipping and mining, old ‘zombie viruses’ locked in the Arctic permafrost may emerge, potentially leading to another epidemic. Permafrost is a layer that remains permanently frozen on or beneath the Earth’s surface. This layer, made up of clay, gravel, and sand, is typically held together by ice.

Scientists warned

Last year, a scientist investigated this major concern using samples from Siberian permafrost. He informed me about the virus lurking beneath the Arctic ice based on his studies. According to scientists, these viruses found in the Arctic have been frozen for thousands of years and are inactive in the permafrost, but they nevertheless represent a risk of spreading and transmitting diseases.

According to Jean-Michel Claverie, a scientist at Aix-Marseille University, these viruses, which have been kept for thousands of years, could be agents of new disease transmission. In such a case, as ice melts in the Arctic, this virus hidden in the snow has the potential to spread and be terrible for the planet.
