This robotic lander, which has six legs, touched down on Friday at 4:30 a.m. Indian time in the Malapert A crater, which is located close to the Moon’s south pole. Thursday (local time) saw the successful landing of the US spacecraft Odysseus on the Moon, making it the first US spacecraft to do so in over 50 years.
With this, Intuitive Machines (IM) – the commercial venture behind the Nova-C lander – has become the first private venture to make a successful landing on the lunar surface.
