Many people are still missing

The report said the investigation team is searching for 12 people in the area, where two villages were razed to the ground due to the landslide. According to the information received, the dead included 113 people from Gansu province and 22 from Qinghai province, while thousands of people were injured.

Construction work going on rapidly

According to the report, a video surfaced of white box-like housing units being systematically installed in an open field in Meipo, a village in Gansu province. So far, 260 housing units have been constructed, while a total of 500 housing units are expected to be installed at nine sites in the village by Friday morning. The prefab units appear to help rehouse many of the more than 87,000 people made homeless.

Provincial officials said on Wednesday that more than 87,000 people affected by the earthquake have been moved to safe camps. Many people had to spend the night in shelters set up in the area as the temperature dropped below zero.
