With a $41.5 million debut, “Alien: Romulus” rules the box office

A stunning $108.2 million was raised for “Alien: Romulus” on its global launch thanks to an extra $66.7 million from 49 markets on the international front. • “Borderlands”: The video game adaptation, featuring Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, and Jamie Lee Curtis, brought in $2.4 million in its second weekend, making its total earnings $13.5 million against a $120 million budget.
