According to reports, federal prosecutors have asked a judge in Brooklyn to deny bail to Klaus Fugbel in the trade secret theft case. The accused was arrested when he was trying to sell the technology for making battery parts by meeting an undercover agent.
Arrested accused Canadian citizen
Information has been given by the Federal Authority that a 58 year old man has been arrested from Long Island on Tuesday morning. Which has been identified as Claus Flugbel. He is a Canadian-born person who lived in China. The agency got information about this after which an undercover agent was sent to the meeting posing as a businessman. The federal prosecutor has demanded from the judge that the accused Klaus should not be granted bail in the case of stealing trade secrets. However, no statement has yet come from the defense side in this regard. The second person has been identified as Shao. He is a 47 year old citizen of China.
Both had important information
According to reports, the technology the two men were trying to sell is Tesla’s secret battery technology. Earlier, both the persons were employees in a Canadian company named Hibar System. This Canadian company was in the field of battery manufacturing technology for electric vehicles. Due to which both the accused had the technology, drawings and many important information related to it.

Prosecutors said the two accused set up a company in China in mid-2020. Expanded it to Canada, Germany and Brazil. The special thing is that several million dollars were spent on the research and development of this technology. Both the accused were trying to sell this technology through ads on Google and posts and videos on other social media. After which the undercover agent met with the second accused Shao in the month of September and showed interest in buying the information. After the meeting between the two, the accused Flugbel and the agent agreed to meet in New York to further discuss the deal.
