Sophia Bush and Ashlyn Harris, a former soccer player, made their first red carpet appearance together on Saturday, April 27, in Washington, DC, at the 2024 White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Both wearing grins. Shortly after Sophia came out as gay, the two were spotted together.
The 41-year-old One Tree Hill actress and the 38-year-old soccer player seemed tremendously in love as they posed for photos at The Washington Hilton. Karine Jean-Pierre, the press secretary for the White House, was spotted posing with the pair.
At the occasion, Sophia’s relationship and gorgeous appearance stole the show. She wore a black strapless dress with modest accessories and 3-D floral motifs on the front. Ashlyn looked stunning on the carpet in a black costume covered with sequins. Harris accessorized Bush with Saint Laurent heels, while Bush finished her ensemble with Aquazzura heels.
The initial buzz about their romance began in October 2023, following Sophia’s breakup with Grant Hughes. After that, they were seen together at the Oscars in March and displayed some PDA at another event the same month.
Following their arrival on the red carpet, two X users reacted, one saying, “Beauty and grace,” and the other, “Gorgeous.”

Ashlyn Harris reacts after Sophia Bush came out as queer
Harris shared an interview on her Instagram stories wherein Bush disclosed her connection with the former soccer player and discussed her sexual orientation, and Harris praised her girlfriend for coming out as queer. Harris wrote, “I’m proud of you, baby.”
Following her breakup with Grant Hughes, the actress came out as gay in an essay she penned for Glamour Magazine on Thursday. She also spoke about her developing relationship with Harris.
She said, “I don’t know how else to put it other than: I didn’t see it until I saw it.”
And I believe that when something has been in front of you for a while and you have never considered it or yourself as an option, it may be extremely simple to miss it.
She said, “And that feels pretty great,” as she explained her feelings about coming out as gay. She also acknowledged that she can now breathe.
