Rinku Singh did not perform well at bat in the IPL 2024, just days after he was left out of India’s 15-man selection for the T20 World Cup. After MI’s fourth wicket fell, the KKR batsman came out to bat and was bowled for just nine runs.
Rinku Singh, who has been trained by the team management since the 2023 Indian Premier League for the finisher’s position, was one of the most notable absences from India’s roster for the T20 World Cup 2024. He clarified that Rinku’s failure to make the cut was caused by misfiring the bowling unit combination.
We need to talk about the hardest topic, which isn’t Rinku Singh. Rinku and Shubman Gill have both done nothing wrong. It is all about the pairings. Regarding the conditions, we are unsure. We so want an adequate selection of bowling choices. To provide Rohit with more alternatives, we have selected Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal as wrist spinners. There’s the all-around bowler Axar (Patel). It’s really too bad,” Agarkar remarked.
Along with Avesh Khan, Shubman Gill, and Khaleel Ahmed, Rinku has been included to the T20 World Cup reserve roster.
He’s not involved in any way, in my opinion. Rinku Singh does not deserve to miss out on this opportunity. There’s an additional batter sitting there already, with two keepers who are excellent batters. Thus, we considered offering an additional bowling alternative. You can only choose 15 players, therefore Rinku is a traveling reserve because of how close he was. It’s a bit difficult for him, Agarkar said.
