With the start of the Pro Kabaddi League’s tenth season in Ahmedabad, one of India’s most popular sports, kabaddi, is set to return. Additionally, the Gujarat Giants, based in Ahmedabad, have named Fazel Atrachali as the team’s captain and Rohit Gulia as vice-captain ahead of the big day. Coach Ram Mehar Singh is an experienced tactician who leads the team.
The Gujarat Giants are eager to join an elite group of teams by winning the coveted PKL championship. They have advanced to the finals twice, in 2017 and 2018. Coincidentally, Fazel was a member of the Giants team that advanced to the championship game in 2017. The 31-year-old defender will try to use all of his elite experience to lead the charge for the Giants. He is a three-time Asian Games medallist and a two-time PKL champion.

“Fazel is one of the most decorated players in the PKL season 10 out of all the players. He has won multiple medals in his career. Fazel is an excellent player, and we felt that he was the obvious choice to lead Adani’s Gujarat Giants,” said Gujarat Giants coach Ram Mehar Singh. “I have worked with Fazel previously.
With Fazel back in the lineup and players like Rakesh and Parteek Dahiya showing a lot of promise, the Gujarat Giants have some talent in their lineup. They are joined by players such as Mohammad Esmaeil Nabibakhsh, an Iranian all-round player, Arkam Shaikh, Vikash Jaglan, Rohit and Sourav Gulia, GB More, and others. The Gujarat Giants will strive for a strong start to the season with their abundance of talent and experience.
The team, which had been based in New Delhi, has been making every effort, according to head coach Ram Mehar Singh, to make sure they are in form and peak at the appropriate time.
It is a pleasure to be back on the Gujarat Giants team, which is a very large team. We have a lot of young players in the squad, and I am thrilled to be leading them. Knowing that we all get along well makes my job as a captain easier. And I’m pleased with how things are developing,” Fazel Atrachali remarked.
On December 2, the first day of the tournament, the Gujarat Giants will play their first match of the season against the Telegu Titans. The TransStadia will host all of the Ahmedabad games. After a three-year hiatus, the Pro Kabaddi League is back to using the caravan format for its tenth season.
