In the second match of IPL 2024, Punjab Kings fast bowler Harshal Patel has been badly beaten. Harshal gave away 25 runs in the last over of Delhi Capitals’ innings. The condition of Punjab’s fast bowlers has been worsened by 21 year old young batsman Abhishek Porel from Delhi. Delhi had fielded Abhishek as an impact player. Batting first, Delhi scored 174 runs on the score board after losing 9 wickets in 20 overs.

After 19 overs, Delhi Capitals’ score was 149 runs losing 8 wickets. No one expected that Delhi would be able to reach even a total of 160. Captain Shikhar Dhawan handed the ball to Harshal Patel to bowl the last over. Earlier, Harshal had spent only 22 runs in the three overs bowled and had taken 2 wickets. However, Harshal would hardly have been aware that his bowling form would deteriorate badly in the last over.

Porel created an uproar

21 year old young batsman Abhishek Porel was on strike from Delhi. Abhishek hit a four on the first ball that came from Harshal’s hand, while on the second ball the wicketkeeper batsman hit a strong six. Porel again succeeded in finding the boundary on the third ball. 14 runs had been scored from three balls and Harshal was now looking under pressure. Harshal bowled a slow bowler on the fourth ball of the over, but the result remained the same – four runs.

On the fifth ball, another skyscraper six came off Abhishek’s bat. On the last ball of the over, Delhi’s batsman was successful in stealing one run and in the second attempt, Kuldeep had to be run out. In this way, Porel scored 25 runs from Harshal’s over, on the basis of which Delhi was successful in reaching a respectable score. Porel played an unbeaten inning of 32 runs in 10 balls. In the year 2021, Ravindra Jadeja had scored 37 runs in a similar manner in one over of Harshal Patel.
