According to authorities in Memphis, Tennessee, a block party at a park turned deadly, leaving two people dead and fourteen more hospitalized, as reported by CNN.
The Memphis Police Department reports that 11 more people who were hurt in the event on Saturday arrived at hospitals in private automobiles, and three of the injured were sent there right away in critical condition.
A reporter was informed by the police that up to 300 individuals were present at the party where the shooting took place.
The police said at a news conference that “At the occasion, 16 people were injured by gunshots.”

As of Saturday night, no suspects were in custody, according to the police.
At the event, two unidentified people started a fire in Memphis
According to Memphis Police Chief Cerelyn Davis, at least two persons are thought to have opened fire at the event. What precipitated the violence is unknown.
Following this, on Saturday evening, Davis announced, “Tonight, we are putting forth a lot of effort to find the people responsible for this shooting.”
The shooting inquiry is still underway.
According to Davis, the department is searching for people who are at fault after receiving camera evidence from the site. Davis also urged anybody with information or video of the event to get in touch with the police.

The tragic event adds to the record of more than 115 mass shootings that have been reported in the US this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive.
According to the archive, a mass shooting occurs when the gunman is not the only one shot—at least four persons must be shot.
