The former minister of Kazakhstan, Kuandik Bishimbayev, is charged of killing his wife in a cruel manner. In November 2023, Kuandik Bishimbayev is charged with abusing his spouse for eight hours. Additionally, the incident’s footage has leaked. The footage shows the alleged spouse repeatedly striking a slender woman with her shoes and feet.

Bishimbaev is accused of viciously beating his wife for over 8 hours in a restaurant that belonged to a relative.
However, presently, under Kazakhstan's laws, domestic violence is not a standalone criminal offense.

The woman’s nose was broken
The husband was seen in the video attempting to smash through the door while the wife attempted to hide in the bathroom. The accused spouse had given the employees of the restaurant his family owned instructions not to erase the CCTV video and not to contact emergency services. The woman’s severe head injury caused her death. The woman had been severely beaten; her nasal bone was fractured.
Woman died in restaurant
Kuandik Bishimbayev, the former minister of finance, was charged with his wife Saltanat Nakenova’s murder. The day before their deaths, Bishimbayev and Nukenova had spent the whole day and night in the restaurant, according to news agency Reuters. After the event, the ambulance took 12 hours to arrive. Within the restaurant, the woman passed away.

The 43-year-old Bishimbayev may spend up to 20 years in jail after being accused with torture and violent murder. He has claimed in court that Nukenova’s injuries were self-inflicted and entered a plea of innocence.
