In recent days, JJ Redick, a former player for the Los Angeles Clippers and New Orleans Pelicans, has been “arguing” with Patrick Beverley of the Milwaukee Bucks. The argument includes Reddick bringing up personal statistics. Reddick is currently a presenter and commentator on ESPN in North America.
James Harden’s Rockets and JJ’s Clippers met in the 2015 conference semifinals. Outraged by Patrick Beverley’s recent remarks on his podcast, Redick shared numbers from that game on social media.
Redick, a player who seemed to be heading into one of his best seasons, was frequently Harden’s primary defender.
Pat Beverley said Redick had been “fired” facing James Harden. The term refers to the fact that, according to Beverley, JJ Redick would have had great difficulty facing “Barba”, but the commentator decided to counter the Bucks player’s statement with some numbers.
*Facing Harden, of 58 shots attempted by the then Houston Rockets star, only 21 were converted.
*When James Harden was isolated against JJ Redick and had him as his primary defender, Harden’s shot performance was less than one point (0.94) for “iso” plays in 37 situations like this.
Luckily the cameras in the arena have better eyes than you.

289 halfcourt matchups
21-56 shooting by Harden as contesting defender
37.5% FG (42.9% eFG)
0.94 points per direct iso allowed on 37 isolations
I guess that’s getting torched??? https://t.co/JoyzNy5WOP
Furthermore, JJ held Harden to 37.5% shooting from the field, reducing the 42.9% that the Rockets’ main player had that season.
How did the fight between JJ Redick and Patrick Beverley get to this level?
Adrian Griffin was fired by the Milwaukee Bucks throughout the season in an attempt to strive and reach new heights. JJ Redick recently discussed this scenario on the First Take program. They ultimately added Doc Rivers, a different and more seasoned coach.
In interviews conducted after he had been the team’s coach for over a month, the current Bucks coach expressed his confusion about why the team that had won a championship three years prior had chosen him. The Clippers star Kawhi Leonard was the subject of his most recent remarks, which he made after making a comment about the players’ phase that the media did not highlight.

Reddick played for Doc Rivers in his time as a Clipper, and the lines that were directed at the coach during the program aired on Tuesday (20) did not please some players, including Beverley. The commentator said that the coach always finds “excuses” for what happens to the teams he coaches, and never takes responsibility for his actions.
— It’s always an excuse. Always throwing his team under the bus… there’s never any accountability with this guy. — Redick said.
Patrick Beverley soon came to his coach’s defense, stating that JJ Redick is not grateful for what Rivers did for the player.
— “This guy,” Doc, actually saved his career. They cast you when no one else wanted you, and you retire, go on television and say this? — Beverley commented on JJ Redick’s speech.
Since then, the two personalities have responded to each other through social networks, the main means of propagating their speeches on podcasts and live programs. Reddick even countered Beverley’s statement, saying that he received an offer from another team to receive the same amount he earned at the Clippers and the starting job.
