Prime Minister of Bangladesh and President of the ruling party Awami League Sheikh Hasina released the party’s election manifesto on Wednesday. She has promised to build a smart Bangladesh if she wins the elections again. General elections are to be held in Bangladesh on January 7 next year. The main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is opposing this election.
Sheikh Hasina appealed to the people
Sheikh Hasina said that people should come forward and vote and give us one more chance to serve. During this time many senior leaders of Awami League were also present with him. He said that you should vote for us. We will give you development, peace, and prosperity. He said that our party does not believe in playing with words but believes in fulfilling its promises.
Promise to make Smart Bangladesh
He mentioned many important points to create Smart Bangladesh in his manifesto. He has promised to create a technology-based country as well as modernize the health sector. During this, the Prime Minister has also attacked the opposition party. He said that whenever elections come, anti-Bangladesh forces become active and start plotting.
BNP announces election boycott
Meanwhile, the BNP has boycotted the general elections after its demand for an interim non-party neutral government to conduct the polls was rejected. Earlier BNP had boycotted the 2014 elections, however, participated in the 2018 elections. BNP had alleged large-scale rigging in the elections.
