According to GQ, the family resides in the opulent Qasr Al-Watan presidential palace in Abu Dhabi, the largest of numerous such palaces in the UAE. The huge palace, spanning around 94 acres, features a chandelier made of 350,000 crystals as well as rare historical treasures.
The family is led by the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, popularly known as MBZ. He has 18 brothers and 11 sisters. The Emirati royal family comprises nine children and eighteen grandchildren.
Collection of more than 700 automobiles
Sheikh Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, the Abu Dhabi ruler’s younger brother, owns over 700 cars, including the world’s largest SUV, five Bugatti Veyron, a Lamborghini Reventon, a Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR, a Ferrari 599XX, and a McLaren MC12.
Shares of several large companies
The family owns approximately 6% of the world’s oil reserves, Manchester City Football Club, and stock in other well-known companies.
