Next year, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un intends to launch three more military spy satellites. North Korea launched its first military spy satellite successfully only last month. In an effort to modernize its army, North Korea is getting ready to launch these military spy satellites. During the five-day meeting of the Workers’ Party of Korea Central Committee, Kim Jong Un established this objective. North Korea asserted last month that it had used its military satellite for reconnaissance to snap images of South Korean and American military bases.
Dictator excited by the successful launch of the first satellite
North Korea successfully launched its military spy satellite Malingyong-1 into orbit on November 21. It had made unsuccessful attempts in May and August earlier. Inspired by this accomplishment, Kim Jong Un has set a goal to launch three more military spy satellites into orbit by the end of the next year. “We must immediately respond to the nuclear threat and improve our preparedness by mobilizing all material forces, including nuclear forces so that the entire South Korea can be brought under our control,” Kim Jong Un reportedly stated during the meeting.

The Korean dictator also stated the importance of developing unmanned armed aerial vehicles. Kim stated that he no longer supports the unification of the Koreas and that the unification of South and North Korea is no longer possible. This indicates that relations between the two countries may remain tense this year as well. North Korea is concentrating its efforts on the development of nuclear missiles. Kim threatened, ‘If America and South Korea take military action against us, we will not hesitate to launch a nuclear attack.’
