The army killed 15 drug smugglers near the Myanmar border. Narcotics Control Board informed that during the raid, Army officials saw 20 people carrying bags on their backs in the area. When the officers asked them to provide identification and inspect the bags, the smugglers started firing at the army.

15 drug smugglers were killed in an encounter with the army near the Myanmar border in Thailand. The Army seized 20 lakh tablets of drug methamphetamine from smugglers. According to the Narcotics Control Board (NCB), the army had received a tip-off about smuggling near the border in Chiang province.

During the raid, Army officials found 20 people carrying bags on their backs in the area. When the officers asked them to provide identification and inspect the bags, the smugglers started firing at the army. The army retaliated and killed 15 smugglers.

Officials said the 15 smugglers killed in the shootout have not been identified yet. NCB is busy in finding the source of drugs. Earlier on Wednesday, five crore tablets of methamphetamine were seized near the Myanmar border.
