Engine

The LC8 engine is the most significant upgrade for the new KTM 1390 Super Duke R. It now has 1,350 cc of displacement and a new cam shift system installed for more power and torque distribution. Along with these changes, KTM added a shorter throttle body and redesigned the airbox. Presently, the V-twin motor generates 145 Nm of peak torque at 8,000 rpm and 188 horsepower at 10,000 rpm. There has been a 9 horsepower and 5 Nm increase in torque. There is a 6-speed gearbox attached to the engine.

Specification

The updated airbox design has also made way for a larger 17.5-liter fuel tank by 1.5 liters, while the alloy wheels also sport the new design. The suspension with the trellis frame as well as USD front forks and a monoshock at the rear is taken from the 1290 Super Duke and so is the braking setup. The bike now weighs around 200 kg.

Design

The vertical headlamp cluster of the recently unveiled new 990 Duke is borrowed by the 2024 KTM 1390 Super Duke R. Slim LED DRLs encircling the projector lens unit give it a sharp appearance and help it blend in with the rest of the bodywork. The newly designed winglets for increased downforce represent the other significant update.
